Małgorzata Brzakalska is a certified business continuity professional with years of experience in the government environment, overseeing the development, implementation, and management of a robust BCM system and process. She is now the proud owner of Perle Advisory, a boutique consulting firm specializing in business consulting and resilience strategies. Malgorzata earned her MPA in Emergency and Disaster Management from the Metropolitan College of New York (New York City, NY) in January 2020, a BA in Political Science and International Studies from New Jersey City University (Jersey City, NJ) in 2012, and an Associate Degree in Administration and EU Law from Eurocollege (Plock, Poland) in 2006. She has continued her professional education, earning several certifications, including ISO 22301 Lead Senior Implementer (BCMS), Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP), and Advanced Public Information Officer (APIO). Malgorzata is fluent in English and Polish, with basic proficiency in German and Russian. Prior to starting her current position in November 2020, she served as a 911 responder in New York City while working for New York Presbyterian (NYP) in Lower Manhattan. Before her transition into the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Emergency Management (EM) environment, Malgorzata enjoyed a successful career in the corporate world, holding various service-related, marketing, and communications positions at both small and large globally recognized organizations. She also has a strong track record of providing volunteer administrative and policy support to civic and cultural groups, most recently to the Emergency Medical Services Public Advocacy Council (EMSPAC) and the Montgomery County Coalition Organized Against Disasters (COAD). In her personal life, Malgorzata is a former dancer, long-time vegetarian, nature enthusiast, bootcamp pro, aspiring 5K runner, and Peloton cyclist, known for her ability to cut through stereotypes. She currently resides in Rockville, MD.
